Prepare for Camp

Here’s the helpful information you need to know as you prepare to come to Twin Lakes Bible Camp. As YOU are getting ready to come, WE are getting ready for YOU! Anything missing? Call us!!

Getting to Camp: Please arrive on time.  See our Maps & Directions page.

Arrival and Departure: The first five minutes at camp are important!! We are very intentional about doing all we can to create an inviting atmosphere when you arrive. We will have plenty of staff to greet you, to get you registered, and to allow enough time for you to get settled. Please help us by having all papers & unpaid balances ready when you arrive.

Registration times for individual retreats and camps will be posted on the website.

Please do not arrive early as we will not be ready to greet you and we will be saying good-bye to guests who are leaving that day. Please do not arrive late as you will miss out on important connecting times & information.

If you are having a family reunion or are scheduling your own retreat, it is important that you communicate arrival and departure times clearly with your group. Twin Lakes Bible camp staff will not be available or responsible for guests arriving before or staying after the agreed upon times.

Cancellations: We understand that on occasion, a camper may need to cancel. Please let us know as soon as possible. Some camps have a waiting list. A portion of the camp fee is non-refundable and the amount depends on the date of cancellation. We do not provide refunds for campers who leave due to homesickness or illness. (And. we are happy to report that 2009 only had 2 campers leave due to homesickness & 1 due to illness. Even better, guess what…NO 2nd -6th graders left due to homesickness.. Way to go kids!!)

Snack Shack & Camp Store: The Snack Shack is open daily. The usual camp goodies can be found: candy, frozen treats, snack crackers & chips, cookies, etc. We are also happy to let you know we offer healthier options too! Such as: cheese, fruit, whole grain crackers, granola bars, bottled water, popcorn, and more. While there is an additional charge, we keep prices as low as we can.

Camp Store:  Come and see our NEW logo wear items with our famous tag line…”A fun place to get serious”. T-shirts, hats, hoodies, flannels, bags, stuffed animals, beach towels, blankets, aluminum water bottles, and MORE! You will also find several options for our summer theme shirt – Get Rooted!! Very cool looking! Designed by our very own Andrea Hendrickson. These might even be collectable!

Fieldstone Coffee: Our new coffee shop was a HIT last summer, even when someone forgot to serve coffee!! Imagine that!! Once again Fieldstone Coffee will be open during select hours during camp. You can order different coffees (new expression machine will ensure a great taste!), teas, SMOOTHIES, as well as order pizza, popcorn, or enjoy yummy pastries. Come on in! Play a game. Sit by the fire. Connect with friends. It’s the place to be!

Laundry: We are not able to provide laundry facilities to our guests. However, in the event of an emergency due to illness, a big paint spill, or something along those lines, our summer staff will make sure needs are met and clothing is cared for. Again, camp is a great place to be comfy and wear those clothes that CAN get dirty, painted, etc.

Lost & Found: As you might imagine, our lost and found pile is pretty mountainous by the end of summer. Lost and found items will be returned to you via mail. We do ask that you reimburse the cost of postage. A return address envelope with the amount due will be enclosed with your returned item. Items are kept for 30 days before they are donated to local charities.

Weather: Regarding severe weather, our staff has been trained on emergency procedures and we instruct every camper during the opening session on how to react in case of an event. Our primary storm shelter is the Craft Hall, a concrete room under Harvest Hall. We also have a tornado siren on our property that is operated by the Calhoun County Law Enforcement Center with direction from the National Weather Service. It is loud and works very well! We also make very effective use of weather radios. They are used during the night to alert us if needed.

Safety & Security: There is good reason to feel secure; we place a very high priority on safety. Our staff is trained in emergency procedures for severe weather, unknown person on camp property, lost camper, lost swimmer, fire, and basic first aid. And last but certainly the most important, we have an army of prayer warriors, and we pray for God's protection over our camp and each camper.

Cell Phone/Electronics/Internet: TLCC has a land line telephone located in the main office that is accessible 24hrs a day during any event, as well as most staff carrying cell phones, should the need for one arise. Cell phones are not permitted during youth camps & retreats. Because of our location, some find that reception is difficult. In that event, you are welcome to use our phones.

Internet Use: We are wireless! There are many HOT SPOTS around the camp for your use. Please see a Twin Lakes Bible Camp Staff member for an access code. Fieldstone Coffee is the best location. HOWEVER! We invite you to try a cell phone/internet/laptop FREE time when you are here! Many tell us that the absence of those connections, was a high light of their experience and an essential KEY to really relaxing, retreating, and being able hear what God has to say.

Do NOT Bring to Camp:

Please do not bring items of great value or that cannot be replaced – things get lost at camp.
The less you have to keep track of, the more you will relax and enjoy camp!

PROHIBITED from Camp:

▪ Alcoholic beverages

▪ Illegal drugs

▪ Inappropriate reading material

▪ Weapons

▪ Fireworks
